a darling headband

These turned out cute for a little girl......but I think they would be even cuter on a baby with little to no hair......the bows are interchangeable.
What do you think?

Announcing.................

FINALLY!

I am so excited to share my little adventure with all of you. I have been working on this for months and months and I am thrilled to finally be able to share my news!

Josie-Girl Bowtique was created first and foremost because I LOVE to be creative. I have always had creative juices flowing through me and I love to be able to design and create.

My daughter, Josie is definitely my inspiration for this little adventure. I started making hair bows and barrettes for her shortly after a very scary mishap. When Josie was 10 months old, she pulled a small barrette (the small bendy type barrettes) from her hair and put it in her mouth. She was cradled in a rear-facing car seat so she was inclined and it immediately slipped down her throat. I heard a slight cough come from her and immediately noticed that her barrette was missing. We were on our way out of town and I insisted that Brad and I take her to the ER. He thought I was nuts and was sure the barrette probably fell to the floor. I had this mothers intuition that told me otherwise. Sure enough, she had swallowed the barrette. The doctors at our local hospital were not able to remove it, so we quickly made our way to a bigger hospital in Spokane, where they would help us. Josie had another x-ray and the barrette had not moved an inch (in over 6 hours) so she was put under and had a quick surgical procedure to have it removed. From that day forward, I never used those small barrettes again.

I have been designing and creating hair bows and barrettes endlessly. I have about 10 different types of bows and barrettes that I am creating. All of which come in a huge variety of colors, textures, sizes and with so many different embellishments. I use high quality grosgrain ribbon as well as velvet & sheer organza. Josie-Girl bows and barrettes are perfect for girls of all ages and for all occasions.....birthdays, baby showers, holidays, back-to-school and just because. All bows and barrettes come gift-ready on a beautiful display card and make perfect gifts.

One aspect of my business is that I will be using etsy to share and sell my hair bow creations. If you have never heard of etsy, you are missing out. It is awesome. You will find such neat things for sale there. My website is josiegirlbowtique.etsy.com The site is not completely ready yet, but I really hope to have it ready to go in the next few weeks. I am going on vacation soon, and I might wait until I come home until it is "open for business". I will keep you posted.

Another way that I will be sharing my product is through in-home "Josie-Girl Bowtique" parties. Hostesses can earn FREE hair bows and barrettes by hosting a party in their home. I will bring a selection of bows and guests can shop from the bows on display. Invite friends, family, playgroups, etc. and encourage them to bring outfits to match. If I don't have a pre-made bow to match, we can create a custom order.

I am super excited about this and I hope you are too. I have gotten such AMAZING feedback and encouragement. I have already had a bunch of orders and gals already wanting & waiting to host a party in their home.

Stay tuned for a sneak-peak at some of the bows I have already created....
